Do you know that feeling when you’ve spent a weekend in a hotel room? Or a week on vacation and suddenly you’re weirdly attached to your room? Or when you lived in a dorm and one specific room became “yours”?
It’s the place that gave you shelter — a quiet corner to recharge before anything important. A tough exam, a job interview, a big meeting, a date. You spent beautiful moments there with friends or family. Or maybe you simply rested there after a long, exhausting day. 🪷
And then comes that moment when you leave the room for the last time… You close the door… Only to open it again for “one more look,” because you know you’re never going to see it again. It doesn’t matter that you stayed only two nights — for a brief moment, that room was…. home. Some people even take photos of their room so they’ll never forget where they spent that time.
As I closed the door behind me, I felt it instantly — this chapter was done. The person who walked in wasn’t the same one walking out.
…Lol ok, I know I’m being dramatic 😅.
But hey! I am just being really really grateful!!! It even got to a point where I sincerely had to ask myself: Do I have attachment issues?! 😂
Has this ever happened to you? Have you also felt nostalgia and gratitude for a room you stayed in — even if it was only for two days? Do you have any little “thank-you rituals” for rooms or hotels where you’ve stayed? What’s your checkout routine? Kissing the pillow, checking all the drawers, one last long look around the room, saying thank you?
Tell me more in the comments — I read everything!
Love,
Zuzka
P.S.: Don’t forget your charger. ❤️
